The week that was: A trader’s view

The Australian market closed the week ended 26 June firmly higher, supported by strong buying in the financials space, said Ben Potter, research analyst for IG Markets.

The S&P/ASX 200 closed 1.3 per cent higher at 3899.5 after trading as high as 3915.60. The financials (2.3 per cent), energy (2 per cent), industrials (1.5 per cent) and consumer discretionary (1.1 per cent) sectors added most of the points.
